Lisa Jeffs Recipes - Berry smoothie

 

If you want a berry smoothie that is going to wake your taste buds right up then here you go!  This smoothie is soooo creamy and delicious it can even be served as a dessert.

 

Berries are natures anti-aging gift to us :).  They are packed with antioxidants!  I would recommend eating berries daily if you can.  They are amazing for keeping us young and looking great.

 

You can purchase berries fresh or frozen.  Frozen berries are great for anyone on a budget as buying fresh berries from a supermarket can get pricey depending on where you live.  Here in Toronto berries can range in price drastically.  What I like to do is pick a large batch of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries from my local organic farm during berry season and freeze them for the winter months.  This saves a ton of money during winter and makes it super easy for me to continue having good quality berries for my smoothies all season.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey

 

Directions

Blend ingredients in a high speed blender until creamy.  Drink and enjoy!
