How to Decide if It’s Time to Quit Your Business: Explore 3 powerful questions to help you get clarity before walking away or making a major pivot.
You’ve worked hard. You’ve put in the time, made the sacrifices, hit the milestones.
Maybe you’re running your own business. Maybe you’ve climbed the ladder. Either way, from the outside, it looks like you “made it.”
But on the inside?
You’re not happy.
You’re not excited.
You’re not even sure you like what you’ve built anymore.
What used to light you up now feels like a burden.
And you’re wondering if you have to walk away from all of it just to feel like yourself again.
First… breathe.
This happens.
More often than you think.
I’ve had countless conversations with high-achieving leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives who hit a point where success starts to feel… off.
Not wrong.
Not bad.
Just off.
And when that happens, our brain tends to go all-or-nothing:
“I have to blow this whole thing up.”
“Maybe I chose the wrong path.”
“Is it too late to start over somewhere else?”
But before you do something drastic, I want to walk you through three things you can look at first—three things that often shift everything without needing to burn it all down.
Let’s get into it.

1. Revisit Your Core Values
(Especially if it’s been more than a year)
Your core values are like your internal compass. When you’re in alignment with them, things feel clear and energizing—even when they’re challenging.
But when you’re not?
Everything starts to feel heavier than it should.
And here’s what most people don’t realize:
Values change.
What mattered to you 5 years ago might not hold the same weight today.
And if you haven’t checked in with your values lately, you might be trying to force yourself into something that’s no longer true for you.
For example—when I worked in the school board, a lot of my values were being met. But key ones like financial growth and creative expansion? Those weren’t possible in that environment. It had a ceiling.
Now, in my business, I’ve built everything—my offers, my structure, my coaching style—around my current values. And when I shift, I make space for the business to shift with me.
If you’re feeling out of alignment, ask yourself:
– What actually matters to me now?
– Where am I betraying my values in the name of “shoulds”?
– What beliefs might be getting in the way of living those values?
This is the very first thing we do inside the Magnetic Leadership Accelerator, because nothing else works when you’re out of sync with your own truth.

2. Identify the Needs That Aren’t Being Met
You might also be feeling off because one (or more) of your core needs isn’t being met.
Needs are different from values.
They’re often more emotional, more primal and if they go unmet, they’ll wear on you until you break.
Here are a few I see often in my clients:
– The need for creativity or freedom
– The need for meaningful connection
– The need for growth and evolution
– The need to feel seen, respected, or valued
And here’s the kicker:
You might be trying to meet those needs in ways that no longer work.
Or worse… you’ve told yourself they don’t matter.
I see this all the time with leaders who are deeply creative, but have shoved that part of themselves aside. There’s no time for it. No space. No permission.
But without it?
They end up crispy… on edge, resentful, disconnected from their own joy.
Before you walk away from the business, the job, or the team… ask yourself:
– What need is not being met here?
– Is there a way I could start meeting that need again, even in a small way?
Sometimes we don’t need to start over. We just need to make a few meaningful shifts.

3. Acknowledge the Season You’re In
This one is huge.
We go through seasons—in life, in leadership, in energy.
And when you’ve outgrown a season, things that once felt inspiring can suddenly feel like a cage.
You’re not broken. You’re evolving.
This might be a season of expansion.
It might be a season of pulling back and healing.
It might be a season of rediscovering what’s really yours and what was just inherited, expected, or survival-mode driven.
Personally, I love using numerology as a tool to make sense of these shifts. You can search “numerology pinnacle” and calculate what season you’re in. Whether or not you’re into that kind of thing, it can be a helpful lens to start exploring the bigger picture.
Whatever framework you use—just don’t ignore the signs.
They’re showing up for a reason.

Final Thought: You Don’t Have to Burn It Down
If you’re feeling like quitting, disappearing, or starting from scratch in some other country (trust me, I’ve fantasized about it too)… slow down.
You don’t have to destroy everything you’ve built.
But you do have to listen to yourself.
✨ Check in with your values.
✨ Acknowledge the needs that are not being met.
✨ Get honest about the season you’re in.
That’s where clarity starts.
That’s how you shift from burnout and resentment…
Back into purpose, power, and peace.
And if you want support with this work, the Magnetic Leadership Accelerator is open for applications now. We start with alignment, because that’s the foundation for everything that follows. You can find the link below if it’s calling you.
You don’t have to keep pushing through what doesn’t feel right.
You’re allowed to evolve.
You’re allowed to realign.
And you’re definitely not alone.
Big love,
Lisa
